Being a mom is work. And if you have a job or work from home, it is important to start your day the right way.
Having a more intentional morning allows for the rest of your day to flow so much better.
While I am no expert on how to best set up your mornings, I can only share based on my own life experience. As a mom of three who runs not one, but multiple businesses from home, I try my best to make sure my days are set up for success.

Prepare the Night Before
This is a life saver-seriously. Preparing for the next day before bed is my number one tip to successful days. That can entail preparing school essentials, lunches (or dinners in the crockpot-but be careful *This Is Us*), ironing, baths, and whatever else you think can be done the night before. One thing I never do is go to bed without cleaning the kitchen. It really throws off my whole day to wake up to a dirty kitchen.
Have Coffee (or Tea!)
I am not a coffee drinker. I am a tea girl through and through. My tea kick starts my day. Coffee may do this for you. Whatever your drink of choice is, get it in!
We take on a lot in a day. My tea in the morning makes some of those daily life things a little bit easier to handle. So fill up on all the tea or coffee you need to get your day rolling!
If you are like me, you love it in a cute mug like this one. Doses of Grace has some of the most beautiful inspirational products, and their mugs are too cute not to grab!
Use a Planner
Keeping up with day to day tasks is something that often overloads my brain. Using a planner or some sort of planning system keeps me from stressing and enjoying smoother days.
From the kids’ extracurricular activities, church events, and all the things I have going on, I can’t get through a week without my planner.
There are some really great apps you can also use such as Evernote to help you stay on track as well. The key is finding what works for you and sticking with it!
There are definitely tons more things you can do to start off your day positively, such as affirmations and meditation alone. Whatever works best for you, pick a system and make it a consistent habit.
I know I have started things and stopped plenty of times. But having a solid morning system doesn’t only make things easier and better for you, but for your family as well.
What things do you do in the morning to help prepare you for the day?
